No colors, no decorations, no embellishments, just plain o’black text.
If you found this page from a comment I’ve left, I apologize for the spammy-like comment! I know spam is annoying.
I love browsing Neocities, Nekoweb, and spaces like these that revive the spirit of early Web 2.0 before the madness took over. Before the web became so singular. Discoverability be damned; the average Internet user only uses a handful of websites nowadays, disregarding the millions of webpages out there wanting to be discovered.
However, as much as this freedom of self-expression is liberating, I also find it suffocating. What if my website doesn’t look cool? What if I’m not good enough to be in the ranks of users?
That’s when I found the solution, this webpage! Allow this to be a break from it all, the colors, the noise, the hustle and bustle of life. An escape from the tug-of-war of one side pulling the rope for a homogenous web, a neatly-designed, user-friendly, milquetoast neutral color palette responsive design web, and the other pulling the rope for a wacky, crazy, return to the scavenger hunt-like experience of browsing the web in the 90s and 2000s, complete with all the tacky and liberation that HTML and CSS had to over.
Thanks for listening to my rambling. If you’d like to leave some thoughts, check out my atabook down below or email me: antiantichamber@gmail.com
